He had them on his 87 C4 and had no problems with fit. I'm pretty sure the rears will clear (and I don't mind grinding the caliper a bit if I have to) but my concerrn is is the 15" clearing the front brakes.
I'm not positive, but I think you'll need more back spacing. I have 15 x 10 with 7.5 backspacing. This is on my '93 and what most of the others are using. Also some guys are using a 5/16 spacer as well.
Mad,
on my 89 I use 7.5" back spacing + 5/16 spacer and had to grind the calipers.
On fronts I have the J55 bigger 13" brakes/calipers and used also a 7/16" spacer + ground the calipers.
But I don't use the XP's. Maybe they are different.
I think I saw Beachbum Todd use XP's at the track one time. Maybe he will chime in here.
are you guys using longer studs? I have a pair of 15x10x6.5 draglites with 325-50-15 BFG's on my drag radial car....what are the chances they'll fit on my 90? Slim??
oh yeah. I forgot about those. I am using the ARP's. The nuts that were included with my chrome 5 spokes are open ended acorn. They just had a chrome plastic cap covering the end. I didn't know this till I bolted them on and bottomed them out on the rim. The stud came poking out. The lock nuts I had a machine shop lathe off the ends so I could still have that security feature.
Use GM perf part # 22551491 studs. They are the longest.
also, the spacers do need to be 7/16" as Chris mentions above. I will edit my previous post.
Paul- so your studs are cut off at the " just right" length that allows you to bolt your street wheels on, with the theft preventative locks, yet long enough to give the support that the weld wheel needs? I would really hate to change out studs and then have to do some funky mods in order to get my other wheels back on.
BTW- thanks for the info
