my service engine soon light turned on this weekend while i was driving home from a friends house. the car seemed to run alright but it idles a little high and when i am cruising at about 3,000 rpm it seems to stumble a little bit. so i took it to autozone to get the code checked and the scan tool gave an error message while linking so i tried to hook up my hypertech too see if that worked and the same thing happned. i tihnk that my computer might be spanked. if some one could help me that would be great. also does anyone have any idea of what a new computer might run me for my car?????
Try pulling the codes with a big paper clip bent in a "U" shape in the ALDL and using the speedo for the display. This site is a better explaination. When you do it, have a pencil and paper ready as it will automatically display the codes when it begins. You'll need the fault code and the module code. http://www.c4vettes.com/codes.htm
Sounds like mine when the opti started going away.
A new computer is something like either $400 or $800 ( I don't remember which), but they don't go often.
