Somebody has to know
I just got really curious and pulled the back cushion off. Here's what I discovered.
1.The staples that hold the leather to the plastic shell are completely baffling. I don't know how in the world these are done.
2.These seats have adjustable bolsters. Which makes me wonder, if the seats have 3 controls, back angle, lumbar and the bolsters, why are their only 2 switches on the bolster console?
3. The 3 lines to the bladder got disconnected when I was pulling it all apart, so I have no idea which goes where, but it doesn't really matter for the time being since there's no pump for them anyway.
4.And after looking for the bladder, all I found was a thousand pieces of brittle rubber. No part of the bladder was bigger than a quarter inch or so.
This is all very funny. Glad I got these for free.
Does anyone have any answers to any of these?
Chris
I am emailing you a schematic of the sport seats and the corresponding legend.

1. I agree they look impossible to do. A shop told me they use a very powerful air staple-gun at the factory. I used some interior screws ; 2 on each side, and painted them to blend in.
2. I don't know.
3. I have pumps but no bladders. The little hoses go no where.
4. See #3.
Recovering wasn't too bad, but time consumeing. :chevy
To Curveit, thanks for the idea of using interior screws. I'll probably use a couple more per side for good measure, maybe 4 or 6.
I may just say screw the lumbar adjust. The seats seam comfortable without it anyway. I really wanted the bolster adjust, for auto-xing. My trans am had lumbar adjust and I kept it deflated completely the whole time. If I end up hooking up the lumbar, I'm going to need the bladders as well as the pumps because mine's missing.
I recovered the std seats in my '86 and I agree that it wasn't hard, but just took about 2 or 3 hours a seat. These look a little easier, being that there's a ton less hog rings being that the bolsters don't require any. But the staples had me lost. I'll try the screws. My seats are black, so I won't even need to paint them.
Thanks for the help, guys.
Chris
