I have an L-98 in my 71 and am confused about the hoses on the throttle body.
Will someone please tell me what hose is supposed to be connected to each of the three ports on the passenger side and to the single port on the lower front of the throttle body?
Thanks.
Get two large vacuum nipples at Auto Zone and plug the two large fittings, the one on the left side and the largest one of the right side. These are coolant fittings and when coolant flows throught them only serve to heat the incomming air. Then just run the heater hose under the TPS into the water pump fitting.
This "mod" is called the TB coolant bypass and is performed by a lot of us to aid in keeping intake air as cool as possible.
The smallest fitting on the right connects from a vacuum line that comes across from the left fender well. The medium fitting accepts a hose that connects to the breather in the right valve cover. There is a small fitting under the front of the TB that connects to a small vacuum hose.

What does the small vac hose connect to?
I understand the coolant bypass idea. On my 90 Speed Density TB, I think the coolant connections are top passenger side and lower front.
Understand the breather connection.
Any other tips?
If your set up is the same as mine the small vac hose from the bottom of the throttle body runs to the EGR solenoid which is attached to the intake next to the thermostat housing.
