I bought TPIS runners and Plenium from a guy off ebay. Very fast service and free shipping.Well they showed up looking great in black powdercoating.
But as I found out I have the wrong theads to mount these in correctly. So I will save these for another day.. I will have to re-thread the holes to a little bigger size.. Cause they look a little meesed anway..
Ok now I had everything off the top except the intake.. So Ithought just the runner would be nice. So I pulled the parts off the new plenium and put on the old.. I messed the TB gasket and used a gell type gasket maker stuff..
So now the car sits in the shop here at the house with the hood up my back sore and a car that wants to start and run in WOT...Not good...
The only other thing I changed was the coolant that goes into the TB I pulled it and bypassed it with a copper tube and the OEM clamps..Thats untill the one I ordered comes in...
Seems to look like it smoking on the right front side of the engine by the oil filler cap..
help.. Did I confuse the whole setup or am I off by a big air leak..
Smells to be running rich and air leaks is a problem when dealing with the install of this type of setup.. The bolt on the back side of the runners is a joke. To get to the right side you have to remove the sensor thats attached to the water neck.. and the left you have to disslocate the fuel rails to see it..
Now to fix this it will take me a day. And I have 2 hours before my life turns to busy city and I need to load the truck for the big weekend..
That I wanted to take along the Vette..Now it sits..

Yes, those two bolts are a bit of a pain, but you should be able to get the one on the back side of the driver's side by using a long extension and a U-joint. I have never loosened my fuel rails to get to that bolt. As far as the sensor you're talking about, that's the EGR solenoid. It's a pain in the neck, as you mentioned, because you have to remove it to get to the runner bolt....unless your EGR is no longer connected, then you can just remove the solenoid.
Im going to loosin it all up and add new gaskets..I had trouble with them not staying in place so I used gasket glue..Anyway it looks like I will have tare her down agian,, :nopity
IM going to get all new gaskets along with a TB gasket..

I second that. :iagree: I used a beefier-than-necessary 3/8" drive torx bit, a 3" extension, a u-joint, and a 6" extenstion behind that. The nice thing about Torx, is its forgiving if you get in at a bit of an angle, (as long as its not too tight).
