Which N20 kit do you prefer?
Ok, just about decided to squeeze the vette. It's an LT-4. I am not looking to get crazy, just hit it with 100-150 (tops!) and shoot for the low 12s or 11s. Who makes the best, easiest to use kit for these cars? I see a lot of NX. If possible, I don't want to get into a bunch of other additions like fuel pump, ignition, etc. OR, do I have to make those changes to squeeze 100 or so?

Most people here go with N.O.S. or NX....... Some here and there will pick up TNT.... Havent really heard any complaints from any of them
The one thing I think ever one should get because it makes your life a little easier is a MSD Digital 6+. It allows your to pull any amount of timing up to 9.9* when the system is activated and doesnt make you run a little retarded all the time.
You will want the little things like a Fuel saftey switch and stuff like that. It kinda adds up fast but is worth the money.
I have N.O.S. system and have no complaints.... And I would suggest a 100 shot on that motor... I wouldnt risk a 150
I'm running a TNT setup. Only complaints are having to modify the plate for IAC considerations and doing a little grinding on the thermostat housing to make it fit.
Wait... also have to add that 90 degree fittings are needed to make the hose routing work correctly to the plate ( http://www.performanceplumbing.com ) .
But this would be necessary with any nitrous kit. They are very basic and quite overpriced. Knowing what I do now I would gather my own components to build a custom kit.
Unfortunately, if it's your first attempt (as mine was) you'll have to buy a kit and live and learn.
TNT provides quality parts (as does NX and NOS). But the standard $650 kits require about $400 in accessories to be a truly complete system (at least). Don't scrimp. Expect a basic "complete" system to be a bargain at $1000.
I like my NX kit. easy install, works great and they say not to pull any "stock" timing out for only 100 shot. I'm not pulling any and every thing works great. Look around on ebay, I see a lot of kits for sale there that have not been installed. I got mine there for $200.00 still in the box.. :seeya
I'm wrapping up my install on my NX kit. Havent used it yet so I can't comment on how well it works, but if it works anything like the quality of the parts, I'll be a happy camper. I also recommend DynoTune for accessories. I've been pleased with the quality of the purge kit and bottle heater during the installation.

From my LIMITED experience, the most important thing after all the "idiot proofing" stuff like a wide open throttle switch and the like - is to make sure that the solenoids are heavy duty. I am currently running a USED nitrous system from the TITAN C5 racecar from Breathless Performance Products. Ernie decided to supercharge the car, so I grabbed his old N20 system (Now his car is twin turbocharged - over 1,000 HP!) Ernie adapted the system and installed it on my 1987 L98 - which was just rebuilt - AND NOT BUILT FOR NITROUS! The system is adjustable from 75 to 300 HP, but I'm just running 100 shot with factory ignition and stock fuel pump. You should be OK with a 100 shot with out having to upgrade everything. When you go more than 100 shot, I've learned you need to retard the timing with an aftermarket ignition, cooler spark plugs, more fuel volume etc. Your car's computer should be able to handle 100 shot on its own, but call the experts - not the manufactuerers who will bend the truth to make a sale - call the supertuners like Breathless or TPIS or someone that's not looking to make a buck selling you something. I have also found useful articles in such magazines such as Super Chevy. Knowlege is king when it comes to Supercharging & Nitrous.
Good luck with your project :steering:
I run the NX. Limit yourself to a 100 shot and you will probably be fine without adding an ignition or fuel pump. Both will make it a little safer though.
I would not even consider running a 150 shot on that motor.
