Default Help! I have a coolant leak.

It's right above where the lower radiator hose connects to the engine block. I can't get a visual on it. It is spraying out when coolant is at operating temps. Has anyone had a leak in this place? What is it?

Can you be more specific? My lower radiator hose was leaking on mine but a good tightening of the braket on it solved it.

I thought it was the lower radiator hose (the lower bracket is a PITA to get off!!) so I replaced it but the lower bracket area is getting sprayed with coolant from the top right(center of engine area).

Edit: With the lower bracket I mean the one connecting the hose to the engine block.

Could be the hose. May be the water pump.

I replaced the hose.. It can't be that. I think it may be the water pump gasket because it is coming from that area. I was also told it may be a heater hose. I don't know though for sure since I can't see it even with a lights and mirrors. I was hoping someone had a similar leak.

You can purchase some dye that you add to your coolant system and then run your engine until you get the leak. After that you can put a black light on the area and you should be able to spot your leak. The dye has a UV solution so it is visable under a black light. Also, if you can borrow this tool it would be more benificial. It is a coolant system pressure tester. You screw it into the radiator in place of the cap. You pump up the pressure to around 15 or 20 psi and you will force the coolant out of the system without starting your engine. You will find the leak. It is just a matter of time.
