More Ported Superram Results....
At a 300 foot track elevation with a respectable DA of 1050 feet exactly, I ran 11.558 @ 117.10 on front fatties with Rear ET Streets. My best ET to date in this car with me in the seat is 11.552, however that was in a 500 foot DA and with front skinnies on the car. The number 11.55 is haunting me, I have now ran this # about 10 times, yet never reached even a 11.54 with me in the seat. (11.48 with a lightweight friend driving is best of the car, but not me)
Then later on the day after being promptly eliminated from elimiinations, slapped on the street radials for a time only pass and ran 12.09 @ 118.56, this is my new best MPH. With front skinnies this would have definitely equaled 119 and probably 119.50 and in better air, maybe even a 120 trap speed..... my vette has never been able to run these types of trap speeds in the past.. DA was 1300 feet when I ran the 118.56 mph and motor temp was almost 190 degrees.
Not sure for 350's, but for 383+ size motors, I think a ported Superram is worth 15 or so HP.... LPE advertises 15-20 hp, and I don't think they over estimate these things very often as some other tuners may tend to do.
Bought a new set of Skinnies today, will have tires on them by next weekend and will try to break into the 11.4's and who knows, maybe even 11.3's next weekend.
cheers,
Beach Bum

Most impressive Todd.Congratulations.
I'm hitting the track sometime soon to see what mine does just on street tires. I haven't run it yet with the DFI. The motor isn't liking more than 22 deg WOT timing though(detonates BADLY with anything more) so we'll see.
Awesome trap speed and a 12.0 on streets! You da man  :steering:   :D

Looks like if they are worth a solid tenth , then you should be at 11.45 ET's, right ?
Can you test the skinnies at the track ? Sorta like back to back testing with the skinnies and the regular tires.
Vic
Hi Vic, I sold my Weld Draglites because I wanted to go to a 15" rim to run a taller tire and I also wanted to switch to the better looking in my opinion Weld Prostars.... however, the guy I was going to buy them from decided he was keeping them, thus I have been racing with the fatties all year so far. However, today I purchased some Crager Dragstar front rims... thus all I have to buy now is the rears. The Dragstar is basically a dead copy for the Prostars.
Next Sunday I will be racing with skinnies again, however, will be racing on 1/8th mile track instead.... but will tell me a lot. I expect to run 7.2's at around 93-94 mph give or take a hair.... I hope.
later

Hope you can get past that 11.55 next time out!
Matt
P.S. Whens the next LACR race? I hope to be done by then, getting the legal stuff done this week, and hopefully the 3" pipe will be in stock so I can finish the exhaust and drive this POS :)
Got your email........ :-)

Can you post us all some pictures? I for one would like to see them. I am going to have mine off again soon to get some bigger injectors in there for test purposes and maybe then I can do a little more grinding
I think the next Corvette Challenge is the end of June, but not sure, check http://www.corvettechallenge.com for the exact date. Look forward to seeing you out there !!
Ralph,
I am contemplating going out in the garage today and working on the plenum.... too bad there isn't a way to capture the removed metal, would love to trim the plenum with just the lid removed. Regarding you guys rain you're having..... nah, nah, nah !!! :jester
Ski,
I don't have any pictures of the SR.... have pictures of a lot of other things, but none of the ported SR, never thought of it when it was off.
btw, did you make it to the dyno this weekend ?? Really looking forward to hearing the results !!!
cheers,
