ok, I have the D36 w/2.59 GRANNY gears. :cuss :cuss Ok, what to do now?? I've read/talked to other vette guys saying that the D36 will Literally BLOW Up if i run faster than 13.00ET's. Others have said to put 3.73's and just take it easy outof the hole and watch your 60' times. I really don't want to go through all the trouble of ripping the rear end out putting the 3.73's in and then 2 months later picking up parts at the strip.... :skep: I'm starting to wish i had a GM 10 bolt and get some Willard get'R done gears...lol for a few hundred bux. Any ideas guys? right now i'm running 13.50's w/ 2.0 60 foot's. D36..... mother of god... :nopity
It's NOT the ET that kill syour rear end.
It is the 60foot times.
I run 1.8's all day and they are fine, but once you get into the 1.7's and below you are on borrowed times..
Basically the lower the gearing, the less material is on the 'teeth' in the rear end. The less material, the easier they break.
So with your 2.59's you might be good for 100 more passes, but once you go 3.73's you might break it in only a few runs...
