Default Powder coat water pump?

I'm considering powder coating the water pump the same color as an LT4 intake with the black Meziere - would you do it?

:nono: I wouldn't guess it would be safe. Powder coating needs to be baked at about 475 degrees. I would bet there are seals in the water pump that cannot take that kind of heat. :( great idea though. :yesnod:

95AquaC4 is correct 100%.
Mine can't be seen with all the accessories installed, anyway.

It's your boat. Float it anyway you want.

With the water pump stripped down for the Meziere, there would be no seals to damage. I say go for it, think it would look good.

Lets get this color thing in line. A black Mez pump, And don't forget the opti replacement with a Dyna-spark (red), What color is the intake? I personally like the bare aluminum idea with the black pump. BUT I agree, you're not going to be able to see it very well, except in your mind.

Thanks for the reply guys. :) I just don't want to do something I'm going to regret in the future! ;) The pump is stripped, however I did plug the drive hole already. I'm going to ask the machine shop if running it through the powder coating process will do anything to the sealer they put around the freeze plug.
Strick - the color would be red just like a LT4 intake red.
