I'm running a mild aftermarket TPI setup on an aluminum headed 383 w/ 24# SVOs. I'm using an older Accel unit to program the fuel maps,etc...
Long story short, this is a conversion and I'm starting from scratch. The current fuel map is WAY too rich, so does anyone have a baseline they can send me for comparison's sake? An ascii file or whatever would be fine, just to get me in the ballpark (ie no black smoke at idle). This is for an `86 cold start as well.
Re: base pulsewidth for a 383 w/ 24# SVOs (flynhi)
I think like... 35psi or so. I'm using an older Accel DFI (5.0) to modify the fuel map... which was previously set up for forced induction. WAY to much fuel. And wouldn't you know it: the DFI is acting up and won't let me change more than 1 cell at a time (and I have to close & open the program after each value is adjusted... a real pain!).
I just want to know what the ballpark should be for a mild 350/383 N/A vette to idle and cruise well. WOT and max power can come later. :D
