Bad gas?
Well, Ruby seems to be a bit sick, but only at idle. I ran her up to BG and back, no problems, except towards the end. After my last fill up outside Tampa, I stopped at a rest stop. When I restarted it, it didnt start the first shot, second time fired right up, but then the idle went a bit nuts. Gave it some gas, and it idled a little high. Now when I come to a stop, it idles pretty rough, but not like its going to stall. Its almost like I have a huge cam in it (engine kinda rocks side to side)
Driving is fine, even at 4 MPH, just sitting idle is the rough. When I filled up, I put 17.3 gal. in it. Think I picked up some sediment or got bad gas? or do you guys think it could be something else?
Engine has not been wet (so I dont think its opti related)
TPS is relatively new, so I doubt thats it also.
It could still be the Opti, have you looked at the weep hole on the Water Pump?
Bad gas is certainly possible, run it out of there ASAP or suck it out of the tank and fill with some super premium and run that through ASAP too.
I dont trust those water-in-gas removing chemicals.

Re: Bad gas? (My 95)
Voltage is fluctuating pretty bad too. from 12 to 14... makes me wonder if its the alternator. I did smell something electrical the other day (burning smell).

Re: Bad gas? (Matt Black)
acceleration on the highway is fine. even spun the tires going into second today (A4)
I think I might jsut drive around in 2 or 1 all over the place and burn the gas up real fast and get a quick fill. Maybe take it for a long drive to drain her at normal speeds without killing my tranny in 1 and 2.
This kills me, 1919 miles to and from BG, and it acts up with 100 miles to go :banghead:
I'd start with the gas too, Gene...I always use Chevron but one time last year I filled up with Exxon and it not only ran rough but threw a "check engine" code...you probably want to chage the fuel filter as well...good luck...hate when crap happens.. :(
