I have had made some smooth intake tubing made for me......I will be taking pictures of it installed on the car......Would anyone be interested in these??? Would you think there would be any benifit over stock, other than looks???
I'm interested. You'd have to think smoothing out the airflow would have to have some positive effect no matter how minute it may be. Where'd you get them?
I thought somebody here had used chopped-off traffic cones, but I'm not that big on blaze orange. I've been keeping my eyes peeled for different colored cones (black?) like the phone company uses...
I had them proto-typed by a freind who builds crazy turbos....He can do custom hoses and my other friend is trying to market them for different cars....I thought somebody here might be interested and I could hook them up.....no idea on cost yet....they gave me a set to try I have digital photos if I could find out how to upload them.......
Could someone please walk a guy who is dumb#$%@ on the computer thru the "posting of pictures" process......I do not understand the upload and the making alink process....If I can't point a click I don't understand.... I will not give up I just need help...

You need to upload them to a webserver first. When you have successfully done that, you should be able to access your pic by entering something like http://www.ipostmypicshere.com/thisisthepic.jpg (not real).
Then insert the "http://www.ipostmypicshere.com/thisisthepic.jpg" inbetween the [lMG][/lMG], like [lMG]http://www.ipostmypicshere.com/thisisthepic.jpg[/lMG].
If the picture is properly uploaded and the correct URL is entered into the tags, then the pic should display.
Or if you email the pics to me real quick, I can load them up on my webpage real quick and post the pics for you.
I will be at the dyno with the car all day on Wed. I will be back on this forum on Thur.s hopefully with some dyno results, and pricing.....If enough of you are interested I will try and get some out to you...... Thanks for everyones help... :leaving:

I dont have an engine like yours, but heres the "High tech T.C.A.I.S" (Traffic cone air induction system):D  :jester
IIRC, mackeyred96 noted that his traffic cone induction deformed under vacuum. I suppose that is one reason why the OEM ducting has the accordian pleats.

It's also why those expensive aftermarket smooth intakes have wire reinforcing rings. :)

You know, it's funny that you mentioned that, I had guessed that, that would happen to mine if I didnt put in a reinforcement of some kind, so what I did was take one of those adjustable metal band's that you screw and unscrew to tighten or loosen up on, let's say the radiator hose, or something like that, and I clipped off the adjustable part which left the band it self, bonded the two ends together, and mounted it inside of the cone so that it wouldnt move around under any force of air which would pass through there, but would still support the walls of the cone from calapsing.
The cone idea is good cheap and some companys have different colors..Which is real nice.. The ones that we are talking about in this forum that are specially made are Cool..And I would like that type of induction.. Better cleaning and gives that TYPE R racer look which loos cool when you pop the hood..
Good job and hook me up but I dont Have a MAF so I need one like the cone idea one but not orange.
