I recently purchased a complete forced air intake from one of the forum members (Excellent transaction with Tom_Ulrich). This kit is for an early model C4 and my car is an 87 coupe. I have no instructions for the kit and before I go in and start to cut I would like some help. I tried doing a search already but came up with nothing regarding install. I'm not exactly sure where to start... :smash: Thanks. Eli
Re: Forced air intake install help... (bill mcdonald)
Thats the one Bill from a/o engineering. I would hate to drill through anything unnecessary...As far as pics I'll post some after the install for you guys to see...
Can't you go to the makers web site and get the info you need to install????
Who made the kit?????
You bought it so you must know who made it....or whomever you bought it from should give you the info you need....
Right?????????????????

There's actually one for sale in the For Sale section. The seller says he has all instructions and templates, maybe you could make a deal with him and see if he could make a copy of them. Worth a shot! http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=572046
I'll be going to makers website for the rest of the info but I'll post pics when done...If not I'll check with the seller in C4 parts that has one for sale. I am just anxious to install the part...
When Ecklers sells that kit, they have a secondary section for special tool rental. You give them a deposit on the tool kit, they mail it to you, you use the tool kit and mail it back, and they send you your deposit back minus the rental fee.
Apparently there are a couple of special gadgets that make the install go much easier.

Re: (2nd2SEX)
Superlund is right about the cutting and the respirator. :yesnod: I knew I had to do some cutting but was surprised by how much material I actually had to remove. I do believe it is worth the effort though.
I've got the instructions from the 90-96 forced air kit I bought from another forum member - the only difference should be the size of the airbox and how it mounts to the radiator shroud. I imagine you mainly want the directions on cutting the bumper - that shouldn't be any different. I can try scanning and e-mailing them to you if you want.
Looks like Red 90 L98 came through for ya' on some directions..
I just painted the front scoop myself, since the paint on my car was in good shape I had the local paint shop mix it per the VIN paint code. Something like $18 for a quart. Painted my GS flares also. Perfect match!
You will find it's easy to paint small parts, the trick is learning to paint large flat panels well...
