I pulled out to pass a truck tonight and when the revs got to the shift point the "service engine soon" light came on. I let off the throttle, engine came back down to cruise revs and it went out. Run it up and down a couple more times and same thing. I have noticed a little engine ping at the shift point rpm lately. Any ideas???
Re: Anyone seen this(service engine soon question) (C4Fanatic)
Put a paper clip ends into ALDL pins A & B (upper right), turn the ignition on, count the SES light flashes (first a "12" is flashed twice, then each trouble code is flashed twice, followed by a "12" twice to signify the end of the codes).

Code 21 throttle position switch too high. Found a buddy with a code checker. Think that the tps is set wrong? Looked it up in the Haynes manual and it gave the correct voltage the tps should put out with the throttle body in the idle position. Probably get a chance to check it out this week. The SES light seems to have went away. That was the only code I had, knock on wood.
