I don't think it would, I wouldn't try it. I just pulled out my 4+3 tranny, only took about 30 minutes after getting the car jacked up. There just isn't enough room in the corvette tunnel to do it all, you have to watch out when removing the engine so that you don't hit the firewall and crack your windshield. If you want to do the engine and trans together then unbolt the craddle and drop the engine and trans out the bottom, its the easiest way if your doing both. I have done it that way and its not that bad you just have to lift the car body over the engine and trans.

I haven't had to pull my motor yet, but when I do, the hood will be the first thing to come off...I've read that some don't, but for the life of me, I don't understand how some can work on a motor extraction with the hood still on...

I didn't do them together when I pulled the engine out. The engine does have pelnty of clearence to yank it with the hood on though.

So it does...

When (not if!) I do pull mine out, it'll be in my garage, where it sits on an Eagle lift...

I've already poked a hole in the roof with the rear edge of an open hood... :cuss

Never, never, never work on your Vette when you're bone dead tired!...

Yeah I was happy not to deal with the hood. If I had taken the bellhousing off there would be even more room. I put it back in without the bellhousing and clutch on it and it was sooo easy to navigate in there. Just make sure to get a helper so it doesn't sway on the hoist.
