Easy Mod to stop burning arm on console
Well I hardly ever put my top on and i have a black interior.I dont know how many times i have burned my arm on console lid. So today i rectified the issue.This what i did i removed console lid.Took all plastic off found a black longsleeve T-shirt size 2x in my closet .Cut the arm off shirt at shoulder an pulled it over console top It streched over without a problem.Tucked ends in and placed plastic cover back on.Cut ariund latch started putting screws in.I didn't cut around screwholes i wanted it to stay streched so the screws cut thru the fabric with out a prob anyway.Now for the light i didnt want to have a piece of fabric so close to bulb so i cut around it and reinstalled lamp.Now go put it back in car and enjoy your cool console.The best thing you can change it easly if it tears or gets dirty.I hated the look of the rubber anyway and having a towel on it is a pain.

I keep a couple of interior colored bath towels in the car and just lay them on the console when it gets hot. I also drape the seats with them when I park. :cheers:
