Car Idles and dies
I have a 94 with auto. Thing has started a erratic idle. While stopped the idle drops below 500 at times and has recently started cutting off. Normally it idles around 600. Previously, the idle would jump from 600-900 or more then settle down. Any ideas on what causes this, EGR maybe ?? Thanks !

Hmmm. Idles and dies.....you're batting .500!
Could be a bazillion things. Chech easiest first. In a very dark area with engoine running (but not in a closed garage!) check for spark leaks (arcing) around plugs and wires.
When was the last time you cleaned the throttle body?

Last time my idle jumped around from 500-900, I had to replace the opti. Does it have any missing at freeway speeds? (That would be strike two).
Do the simple "I should be doing this stuff, anyway" first. Clean the air filter, TB, IAC, check for spark corona, coil wire, water pump weep hole, vacuum leaks.
What temperature show on the digital display for coolant. If the coolant temp sensor on the front of the pump is damaged, it'll cause idle problems.
