Outdoor Temp gauge going crazy!!
It's happened 3 times now. When I leave for work in the morning (after the cars been in the garage all night) the gauge reads perfectly, but, when I come out to the car at lunch time, after it's been sitting in the sun all morning, the gauge reads like 27 degrees!!!!!! Now, today it was around 75, and it said 34 degrees for about 1/2 hour.... What causes this?? Does it not have the ability to go into triple digits?? That's all I'm hoping it is, because in direct sun, depending on sensor location, I'm sure it's pretty steamy!!

I'm wondering if the connector to the sensor isn't intermittent. The sensor is in the radiator air intake down low in the front of the car below the license plate. It's sticking out in the air stream and it has a two wire cable connected to it. Maybe the connector is loose?
Just a guess, cheap to check.

I had/ have the same problem .I replaced the sensor last summer it worked fine,till last week outside temp reads -34 the real temp was in mid 70 the heater kicks on.Ihave no clue what to check next.
