I just ordered the kit from MA to change the gasket and filter for the 4+3, any tips on doing this or is it pretty straight forward. I have acess to a lift so getting under the car is not a problem. Thanks

This is probably the easiest of the jobs you can do. Just dont overtighten the bolts and put a bead of gasket sealer around the lip on the gasket for extra measure.
I have done it with and without the sealer and it leaks sometimes without the sealer.
Throw the filter away and chemically clean the surfaces with brake cleaner. I highly recommend using RTV, letting it sit till it is "tacky" to the touch and then installing the pan and letting it sit an hour or two to let it set up some. Then fill about 3/4 quart. Jack both back wheels up and turn them with your hands. This will pump the overdrive unit and prime the lines and transmission. Crawl back under and fill it until it comes out the fill plug.
You'll probably need a small hand pump to fill it as there is no way to get a container up against hte transmission unless you flip the car over. :)
