Well fellas, I pulled the trigger this morning. I have a scheduled appointment at neverlift in NJ for the week of July 26th to install my roll bar.
I wanted to get it for the weekend of July 12th, then I could have picked it up on the July 26th weekend for some more racing, but the latter date will have to do.
$1250 dollars installed, Chro-moly, swing out bar for door, and painted. Can't beat that price.
Will make the car stiffer also I am sure. Might aid in traction off the line, but that is to be seen.
Will have to cordinate with some of you other guys for that weekend, and see what the scoop is.
:iagree: They are...But mainly because they're a PITA to work in. The door bar's attachment points are the toughest, they have to turn in there at the sill and go to the frame. The speakers are almost impossible to get in and out and, unless you have swing-out or removable door bars the e-brake is a bitch to operate. I have a 6 pt. chromoly cage in mine with non-swingout, non-removable door bars (though I'm thinking about cutting them and making them removable so I can more easily get my fat azz in and out). I'm also getting ready to add two more points so it will be legal under 9.99. Ski it does make the car tremendously stiffer; I didn't really think it would make that big of a difference b/c of the Vettes full frame, but it DOES... It stays a lot straighter off the line and you will pick up some 60' out of it.

You will feel it...And see it in the short times...Mine hit the tires a lot harder it seemed but it didn't "dance" like it used to on launch anymore which probably made the biggest diff... Definitely get swing-out or removable door bars if you drive it a lot; I really don't drive mine that much anymore (not at all right now considering I've had it torn down for almost 6 mos.).

Yeah there is no doubt they do a great job. I have seen the work first hand on Corky's car. Its a nice setup, especially with the swingout bar. I called all over PA and the next cheapest place I could find to do it was 1800, so yeah its sorta a no-brainer. Will have to get my 200 dollar deposit sent off to them and then plan on a trip out there to NJ on the weekend of the 26th
THat is the same weekend I think I came out the first time with my stocker. LOL. Who would have thought I would be where I am now, back then.
I would like to hook up with some of you guys and maybe have someone show me where the place is located, as us country boys get lost fairly easy in the city's :jester When the amount of houses, out number the trees, I am lost! :D
Is Neverlift even remotely near the track? Sure would be nice if it was. I am going to have to take it there at or before 6pm.
Also one last question..Friday nights can I run open exhaust on my car at E-town? Saturday at the event I will have to run exhaust :cry There goes my chances for a 10 sec run :banghead: Maybe I can just bolt it on real loose and leave the exhaust sitting at the line :jester
I paid $1200 for mine, but the guy told me it was blood money...LOL!!! I told him i could get a bunch of business for him and he said no thanks...i dont want to do another one.
