I'll let you know once mine gets on the road how it runs. The biggest tip is "get it tuned properly" also put the necessary gauges in the car. (fuel pressure, EGR and boost)
Also, probably just get a High pressure aftermarket in-tank fuel pump instead of the aux that comes with the kit. (POS I've been told)
Think about your clutch condition if you have one ;)
If you do go with the D1 get a wastegate cause that thing will boost too much unless you underdrive the crank somehow (IM blackbart about this one, it still baffles me) otherwise you should go with the P1-SC which for $1,180 can be upgraded to a D1-SC
(the P-600 CANNOT be upgraded to a D1)
don't go more than 8psi intercooled, 6psi non-intercooled.
It's a good idea to replace your waterpump and opti
clean your radiator really well and get a 160 Tstat installed
replace the plugs and with copper cool plugs like Autolite 103 or 104's and make sure they're gapped at .035"
You should probably upgrade your injectors to at least 30lbs
It's probably a good idea to install an MSD 6 on there too.
I think that's about it.
Oh yeah, you'll probably get some belt slippage so if it bothers you too much you'll have to buy the cogged pulleys and belt. cha ching!
The D1 comes ordered with whichever pulley you want.
Keep in mind, if you ever need to change the pulley you should send it out to ATI to do or they'll void your warrantly, so get something you know you can live with.
Belt slippage comes from the crank hub surface, or lack there of against the belt. I haven't installed mine yet so I'm not sure how much surface there will be on a '92 LT-1. However, I believe the reason there's less belt slippage on the D1 is because of the bigger pulley the trans in the D1 doesn't have to spin as fast to get more are than say the p-600B or the P1-SC.
I think everybody is burnt out on it ...one of the most common post from new comers.........I reallize you need to be informed and with your amount of posts you surly have tried the archive..........anyway........no more than 6 psi is recomended for lt1's or high compression motors...more than 10 to 1 compression........I don't think the d-1 will boost that low .but if I'm wrong some one will correct me ..its a high boost supercharger for race built low compression, forged bottom end, blower piston, low compression motors.......what your looking for I think is a P600b or a ps1 procharger kit, they will both boost up too 10 psi and come complete kits from procharger
I bought my p600b from extrememotorsports for $3,500 for my 85........my experiance is with procharger...........I have two brothers with powerdyne but thats a dirty word on this forum.........they both like them and are running 10 lb boost. hope this helps

I do not like using the archive.....heck, I've been on the forum for 4+ years. Every topic has been dicussed at one time or another. :yesnod:
That is true, but I think there is only about 20 guys with superchargers who hang out here and they get tired of answering the same question...notice the lack of responce on this post. :chevy

That's why are hardly hang out in the tech section anyone.......I've seen the same questions asked a 1000 times. The Forum was a month old when I joined 4+ years ago. :yesnod:
I guess I will try other site.
Your right Zora I think I'm responsable for that SAME QUESTION .this forum is a wealth of information and I'm the better for it...........I stand corrected.........What would you like to know?
Re: Need pointers for Procharger set up (lead foot 85 vet)
supercharged With the serpentine belt setup, you will never get more then 6psi from Procharger, regardless of what size of blower head. The most I ever see is 5 psi at 6000rpm, obvisously it got belt sliapage problems.
That is why I am working to have a cogged drive setup. Hopely I will have it done in a few months. this is exactly the same as TJWong post here a while ago (C4 LT1/4 cogged drive)
Bruce
93LT1 Conv w/ZF6
Blown D1-SC/N2O
ARE built 383ci/Stage II heads
TJWong spent I think he says about $1400. Its was designed by him. He sent out the drawing to the machine shop that made the pieces for him.
I work at a machine shop, with the help of co-workers I will be making my own. I ordered 6" long x 7.5" diameter high strenght aircraft alumimun material that cost me $216, I ordered more material than I will need. But just in case we messed up the 1st one. And a couple $200 for the co-worker for helping me doing it.
FFP will be coming out a cogged drive kit soon. But I can tell you this, it won't be cheap. My guess is about $1400 kit.
Zora, on my 95 I had slippage but just replace the 70K mile tensioner with a new one and it doesn't slip anymore, but my setup is basically stock. I get 8psi at 6100 RPM but I have all stock exhaust.......if that was opened up &/or with headwork that number would drop. Hope that helps.
