If you still have the old manual scissors system on your older C4 you are missing the boat. I upgraded to the later model (gas or spring) strut system and now I have to go back to the gym to get my workout. What a great upgrade. But????? the wierd thing is that the instructions show that the strut is installed in place of the scissors bracket, BUT they fail to tell you its on the drivers side. NO WORRY the holes on the left side are already there.
Now why did they put those holes and nuts there if they were going to use the scissors bracket on the other side. Dosent make sense.
But if you can spring for the kit. ($149) It IS worth it. But if you never open your hood you will never notice the difference.
Do you have or see 2 small gas struts....by the headlight assy.??????
If you replace these..you will be amazed at how easy it is to open....I have an 84'....so don't really know if you have these??????
Anyway......give me an IM , if you need anything further.....I replaced my scissor System with a completly chromed set-up....looks really coooooooooool.
Just FYI.....
