Mine wont lock. The latch doesn't clear the part of the console lid it's
supposed to latch to. It's off about 1/16".
I'm trying to lock it because I run with the targa off a lot and I 'discovered' that
you can reach in, open the console, press the hatch button, and the hatch opens.
Alarm goes off, but you would be just seconds from having a new targa top.

Re: center console lock, hatch open button (kwd1)
Not sure I am on the right track, but often, heat and time warp the console lids.
Have you tried applying gentle pressure to line it up as you lock it?
Re: center console lock, hatch open button (65Z01)
My console lid is also a little warped, so I have to put elbow pressure on top to get it to lock. If you're worried about the latch button, all you have to od is unbolt the shifter console plate and unplug two detachable wires and you will have a non-functional button!
