I've tried with 3 different pullers to no avail. This cheap plastic thing only bends. I'm dreading having the buy the GM tools for a $100. Is there any other way?????
Any tool in perticular or place to buy a little cheaper???? I tried Mac tools but I'd hate to order it to find out it doesn't work. I need to get the J number and call Chevy back to see what their price is.
Re: HELP! Power steering pump pulley removal (vvv90)
Uh, on my '96 the pulley is metal but there is a plastic cap on the hub. Just thought I'd throw that out just in case.
My puller pulls all the way around the bub flange so it doesn't overload a point. Still I've had mine deform slightly. Perhaps you have a hook type puller and need one that pulls the entire flange.

The whole thing is plastic on mine except for the center hub.

That's exactly the one I need but I don't remember seeing one like that the last time I was at Autozone, I'm going to stop in again on my way home today and double check. I'll stop at Murray's too.
