I've had some suspiscions and reading round the forum I am now sure that something is wrong with the performance of my car.
I can't spin the wheels in the dry despite it being a manual.
My shift mph where I can feel the top of the HP curves are around :
35 - 55 2nd
55 - 85 3rd
85 - 90 4th
These seem very low considering the cars ment to do 170mph!
What could this be down to?
Some more info-
The cam is 110deg but the chip was been reprogrammed to suit.
Could the Precats be clogged (57K miles)?
Could the Cam/crank timing be wrong? - I struggled getting the timing marks in the right place without the pistons hitting the valves.
Could it be a sensor problem?

Re: Really need help after rebuild :( (Gareth)
How long did you wait to get the new chip after the rebuild? It very well could be the cats clogged. That was the problem I had after my rebuild. I didn't get the chip done right away, so in the meantime the car was running rich at idle and in the lower rpms. Running rich kills converters.
I'm not saying this is your problem, but it was mine. Good luck.
Re: Really need help after rebuild :( (flyersfan1088)
Thanks, it was pretty soon after. The car was very noisey because the exhaust valve was still open when the spark came in. I did drive it, but not more than 100miles total - I knew I needed a chip. When installed the difference was immediate, quiter and with more performance, but I hadn't driven the car for ages so I couldn't really remember how the car performed before, so I didn't really notice until I took it round a track and got stuffed by some lesser cars. The last straw was reading a few recent posts on wheel spinning so I really tried today - no spin
Your cam timing statment has me confused. You shouldn't have an issue with valve to piston contact. That is something to be considered and checked when building an engine with a lot of duration and cam lift, coupled with higher compression pistons. Cam timing is either right or wrong, some timing sets give you the option to advance or retard the cam timing a few degrees for low or high end hp. I probably haven't helped, but I'm suspecious of the cam being indexed correctly.
Re: Really need help after rebuild :( (Stingray1970)
I remember the first time I aligned the dots on the gears that the inlet valve was opening too early and hitting piston. So I repositioned the gears, however, still looked like the dots lined up. I just mentioned this because it was blowing so badly until the chip was installed.
