Default POWER WINDOW Tech Q

My power windows are acting up. They won't go up or down....both at the same time, a intermitent problem. If i smack the passenger side tranny hump by the console... BADA BING! back to working. So, it's some kind of F'd up wiring in the console, passenger side of the tranny hump. How are the switches wired up?? any ideas?? I know there is a thick blk wire that's in that area... that will kill the windows, i checked everything.... seemed ok. Any idea??

Hi, this is actualy my first post on Corvette forum.

Anyway's I have the exact same problem but only on the passenger side window. I noticed if I open the window all the way down then try to bring it back up again... it won't move, I have to open and close the door really hard to make it work again. A little trick I have is not to lower the window all the way down and this seems to work. My step dad (he owns a body shop) told me this was probably because of the gears inside the electric motor that lifts the window that are slipping. ?? not 100% sure if this is true, but I think if I changed the motor it would fix it... but knowing how much a part like that would cost or even if I can find one in the first place, I'm tuffing it for now. By the way, I didn't exactly understand what you meant by "If i smack the passenger side tranny hump by the console... BADA BING! back to working"... do you mean really meen the transmission hump in the car ??? I'm kinda confused because this has nothing to do with the wires or electric motor in the door. Anyway's, if you find out how to fix this or actualy do fix it... of if any one else has has this problem and fixed it..

Please let us know!
