is there a way to measure the cam duration while it is in the engine? I am trying to find out what exactly I have now with the 1.52 vs the 1.6 rockers, to see what total duration I am pulling.. I knwo the stock cam specs are jsut around 420-440 but I would like to measure it. Not sure this can be done though.
I think you will need a degree wheel on the crank and a dial indicator up top.
The 1.6s should give you about 2deg more duration at .050" lift; of course no more at zero lift. So they effictively give you more "cam intensity" since the valve lift at each point along the lobe profile is about 5-6% greater than with 1.52 rockers.
