As I'm sure many of you are aware, the brakes on the 84 - 87 vettes are nowhere near adequate for racing applications.
I am needing a budget brake upgrade that will at least take me to the 88 - 96 brakes.
I know that Doug Rippie sells the adapter brackets for this,
but was wondering if anyone knew of any other companies that sold these?
Also, any other brake upgrade suggestions are appreciated.

Since you say budget, I assume you don't want to lay out any extra cash for rims or spacers or anything like that. Problem is if you're still running the 86 rims you are going to have to upgrade the rims.

In that case, for the 84-87 guys I recomend that you go with the C5 kit.
Get ahold of Chris May at Superior Chevrolet for most of the parts you need. I'll email you a link for a place to get the brake adapters for a decent price....around 175 for the pair.
Please email that link to scottm@tlitech.com whenever you get the chance.
Shouldn't have a problem getting the other parts, my father-in-law owns a GM dealership.
I can get any parts I need for little over cost.
Ed, from your thread...I don't think the regular C5 calipers are any cheaper, because they're exact same part but red instead of black, and so the color, not the guts of the caliper, are what require the different P/N, but memory tells me that the price is the same.
Also, for those who might be interested, I'm going to be taking my car off the street soon, and so my stock 16" wheels are gone, finally allowing me to put my Wilwoods on. Initially I am going to be using the Superlite IIA calipers (4 piston, 1.75" pistons) w/ C5 rotors. These calipers run ~$200 each brand new, and the rotors are another $110-200 depending on your sources (typically, you have to have a friend at GM to get the rotors for $55 each...I got mine for $48 each), and I will have the plans for the adapter bracket for the SLIIA calipers, so if people want them, I should be able to accomodate.

Actually, I just verified with a couple sources, the unpanted calipers are a little more than the red ones, figure that one out ? ?
