Default Power steering cooler upgrade for 96??

I'm planning some track time for my LT4 this summer. I've done all the Z51 upgrades already except for the power steering cooler. With the larger front tires I'm concerned about boiling the fluid and damaging the rack. I've already switched out the PS fluid to Red Line synthetic.

Has anyone done this upgrade? What's involved and about how long does the install take? How much of a PITA is the install? I'm assuming I can get the required parts from a recycling yard without any problem. Is anyone using an aftermarket cooler that is better than the OEM parts?

Upgrade? Any '96 should already have the PS cooler - Mine does (non Z-51). Unless the Z51 cooler is different somehow - I've never heard of that being the case.

:iagree: Yep, 96's all have PS coolers. It's on the front of the crossmember. One thing you can do is upgrade to a good synthetic PS fluid like Redline

I swear my '92 has one of those, too. I use Valvoline SynPower synthetic PS fluid. It's good, too!

Does anyone have an upgrade though?

I want to put one on my 90, I called around and they are not in stock, so I think it is time to make my own.

91 came with a cooler that is similar if not identical...I'm surprised that 90 did not...
