What if you ported the base a little?
By the way does anybody out there know how much you would have to mill the heads to get back to L98 chamber volumes?
Im using a super ram with forced air induction. The 385 just looks like a real kick azz engine.I can get a pretty good deal on one thats why im considering it instead of making a 383
I had a fastburn 385 installed about six months ago. I dnot have a problem with the engine, I just did not get a good install. I am in the process of straighten out their mistakes. I would recommend installing the hot cam and 1.6 rockers before you install the engine to get the extra HP. I would also recommend that you install LT headers. I did not do either one of these and only am putting down 254hp/295tq. I think the engine has great potential and is different that what other people on the forum are doing.
If I where to do It all again I would buy a ZZ4 short block and a 219 cam 1.6 Pro Mag rockers, And some AFR 190's. Compression around 11.1 compression and A Super ram set up. and a 3000 stall. I would say that combo would be around the 400+ hp range.
