Installation was a breeze until I had to install the spring. Yeah, so unscrewing the front of the MC, pulling out the piston, and removing the factory spring was cake. Installing that clip while trying to maintain pressure on the spring was less than fun. It took me about 30-45 minutes to convince the spring to stop jumping out of the piston and for the clip to go back home.
Driving impressions...with completely stock '86 brake hardware.
Improvement is subtle. Normal braking feels the same, but heavy braking seems to be quicker. Nose dip seems reduced a bit and under heavy braking I can hear the rear brakes occsionally lock up and the ABS unit buzz.
Overall, for $14 and 1 hours time, Im satisfied. :yesnod:
Now it's time to start collecting C5 brake hardware so I can give Eddie a call.
Re: Installed the DRM bias spring....impressions (VetteNoob)
Here's a couple of pics of my spring compression tool. :D
Have the piston in a vise or have someone else compress the spring while you use a snap ring plier to reinstall the snap ring. If I have to do this again, I'll make sure to have snap ring pliers.

Re: Installed the DRM bias spring....impressions (VetteNoob)
I put one in my Vette also and noticed my Vette doesn't "dive" hardly at all under heavy braking, pretty noticeable difference. Then again I upgraded to GS brakes at the same time. :D

How much to rent out your special tool???????

We just made one almost exactly like that 4 removing that beefy spring under the turn switch assy...... What amazed me was that it actually worked

that's pretty retarded. with race tires on it there would be even more weight transfer off the rears. then add trailbraking maneouvers...
either DRM didn't put any race testing into it, or it's meant for cases where different front calipers require a bias change, or your front brakes aren't working properly.
Re: Installed the DRM bias spring....impressions (MSR)
My front brakes are the weak C4 brakes. They need to be upgraded at this point. The observation is only noting an increase in rear brake activity compared to before the spring installation.
