I'll try to post mon night my results. :chevy
You will absolutely want the dyno shop to stuff a wideband O2 sensor in your exhaust to get a correct readout of how good your air/fuel mixture is. :yesnod:
You want to do it in whatever your 1:1 transmission gear is. So for smallblock his was 3rd as he said, for me it would be 4th. What transmission do you have?
I know when we want to put some numbers on the dyno with our bikes,
we add about 10 pounds of air to the rear tire. This makes the tire roll easier on the drum, tricking the dyno to show a few more horse.
At the very least, check your tire pressure.
One time I saw a drag bike on
the dyno with a slick. It had maybe 15lbs in the tire. The soft tire kinda
"folded over" the drum and superheated the tire causing it to disintegrate.
Then you want to run it in 3rd. You'll need to take it up to something like 50mph and hit the gas to the floor. You need to find the lowest MPH you can hit the gas that it WILL NOT shift into 2nd gear.
So if you nail the gas at say 49mph and it shifts to 2nd you have to try it again at 50. If you nail it at 50 and it stays in 3rd and does a clean pull then use 50. Make sense?
I'd run your tires at whatever your street pressure is to make it the most like you'll always drive it.
Fuel pressure was low at upper rpm's :mad I guess i need to get another new fuel pump :mad My existing pump is a 1985 delco(new 500 miles). They recomended a 2800 stall converter/fuel pump and back to the dyno!Rear wheel results were 282.4 hp 287.9 torque :cry Hopefully the pump will help :chevy
