Kumho V700 315/35/17ZR's all for corners. See Tire Rack. $171.00 ea.
Second choice: BFG KDW2's 315/35/17ZR's. This is a new tire not listed at the Tire Rack. Not cheap.
BIG JIM
I have these tires on my 85 and 93 respectively. I live the Khumo's betters. They're a little quieter, plus the BFGs I had on the 85 before would not hold the road at all and they wore out way too fast for the way I drive (not agressive at all)
Hiya Strick,
The salesman that helped me was Dave. The business card attached to the invoice says...

I know these tires are incredibly inexpensive and as such some folks are inclined to turn up their nose or look down it at me but...for the way I drive...they'll last just as long as a more expensive set. Gotta mention... I hated the Dunlops in the rain. They lost grip in a fog for cryin out loud! So imagine my surpise when I could actually do at least the speed limit in the rain with these new tires!
Thanks for the info. As far as if my Dunlops hold in the rain------------she doesn't go out in the rain. I have an extra set of factory wheels that I want to polish and mount tires on, this might be the way to go. Asheboro is not too far from me.
since no one else has posted them, i use falken exclusively. i've used goodyears and bfg. both would get slideways on the freeway with half throttle at 60mph when wet. . falkens have traction and temp ratings of A. tread wear of 400.
they took my first thru second gear tire smokin take offs down to a set of 15 foot black marks. use less weight to balance than any other tire i have ever used.
Thanx guys, I went with the Kumho Ecsta MX from Tire Rack and hope to get them in by Friday. Right around $600 for all 4 with shipping for a Y Rated tire seemed like a bargain to me. I'll let you guys know what I think about them (hopefully) this weekend.
I've had the Kumho MX's on my car for about 2k miles including two days at Watkins Glen. I'm very impressed at how well they stuck to the track, plus so far they show no wear. I didn't get any "chunking" of the tread.
I can't comment too much about how they handle speed in the rain because my aggresive alignment settings (-1.8* camber) make the car's handling very "nervouse" on the street.
I've got the 2nd half of my Eagle F1 GS-D3 set coming in the mail today.
:iagree: http://www.Tirerack.com has the best deals I could find. A hundred less a tire than discount tire(gsc,275 front 285 rear). I think they may have stopped carrying the gsc's though. They got all kindsa tires, with reviews too. Good Luck.
I went with 255/40/17 up front and 285/40/17 in the rear. I know the stocks were 255/45 up front, but wanted the smaller sidewall like I currently have.
