Help ! Transmission Problems !
My 89 automatic just started shifting soft, and feels like it is slipping in second gear. Does not downshift like it used too. Has a shift kit in it from when I got it. Fluid is up to level, does not smell burned, but is not bright red either. Has a little foam in it. Just started all of the sudden. Was fine last tank of gas ago.

Mine did the same thing for months. I finally took it to a local shop. It ended up being a metal tab stuck in one of the springs in the valve body. The metal tab was a remnant of what I thought was a shift kit. Turns out the previous mechanic rigged up the valve body to get it to shift hard (which it did), but didn't hold up!!! I ended up needing a new valve body, but you may not. It looked like an easy job, and the trans didn't have to come out.
