My '92 is running a little hot (235-240) in traffic. Coolant is full, radiator is clear of debris, and the fans are working. I think I need to take the radiator to a shop and have it cleaned out.
Has anyone removed a radiator? What's involved, and how big a job is it? Thanks for any help!
I haven't read that tech tip but i have removed my radiator. there are 6 7mm screws (3 on each side) and they are the hardest part. remove all the Obvious parts and then these 6 screws and your done. takes about 1 hour for a first timer.

Yeah, and if you want to save yourself some hassle, leave these screws out when you put it back together. :yesnod: That or only put in the easist ones. I put them all back and when I needed to get back in there to change a fan motor, :cuss :cuss :cuss that I did. I only have two each side in there now! :D
My Radiator and Condensor were so full of little rocks and everything else that no amount of washing would clean it all out so I replace both. Those 6 little screws with the 7mm heads on them can actually be reversed. What you so is remove the clips from the upper shroud and put them on the sides of the car where the screws came out. The four holes in the side closest to the engine had to be ground down just alittle so that the clips would match the holes. The reason to do this is so that when you are putting it back together you can feed the screw in through the radiator intake side of the shroud. (Under the car.) Those screws go in in a snap! Makes it alot easier the next time you have to take the upper shroud out. :seeya
