88 L98 vettes came with aluminum heads the gasket set was specific for the year and car. I also remember double checking the part number before I installed the trick flow heads with trick flow technical support. The gaskets on the car are aluminum safe. There shouldn't be any thermal efficiency differences between the alum vette heads and TFS heads and wouldn't alum heads actually be "higher thermal efficiency" so you can run a higher CR and not risk detonation because the heads stay cooler ?
My brother already tried to pull initial timing to 4 BTDC . Did not help.
