This one has got me down and out on my 383 SC 86L vette. I recently got a code 34 and T/S it to the MAF so I replaced it with a brand new bosch and still code 34.
I replaced the MAF Power and Burnoff relays and still code 34. I replaced ECM and mempak and still code 34.
I jumped B-12 to the MAF sensor connector and still code 34.
I get 12 volts on pin E on the MAF sensor and still get a code 34.
I've double checked my grounds on my MAF sensor to A-11 and A-12 and still code 34.
I jumped pin g on the ALDL and got 12 volts to the MAF sensor. My idle is a steady 800 rpms with no surges.
My TPS is set to .54 volts and still code 34.
I also clean the battery cables to rule out the simple stuff still code 34.
I need Funstick or Grumpy on this one! Heavy Hitters please feel free to help me out here.
Did you put the relays in the wrong sockets? It is easy to do that. Try switching the relays, unplug the battery to clear the code, then see what happens.
The GM house told me they were the same relay and sold me two of them....What would or would not work if the relay was not working right? I could check it out. I do get 12 volts to the sensor and both grounds are working.

You could use the power relay for both but not the burnoff relay for both. The power relay uses all 5 pins but the burnoff relay only uses 4 of the five pins inside the case. If you got two burnoff relays, your MAF won't get 12 volts and you would get the error code you describe. On way to check is to start the car and see if you have 12 volts at pin D of the power relay. What part numbers were you given?
