Default storing cams

I recently visited a fellow hot rodder, he had several used and new cams stored in plastic trash bags in his attic, he went to get one for a engine build only to find all the cams totally rusted even though the had sprayed each with oil before placing them in the plastic bag before sealing it with a rubber band,
Ive got dozens of new and used cams Ive stored over the years, heres how to do it correctly
(1)buy a length of 2" PVC PIPE
(2) cut it in to 24" lengths
(add a GLUE ON CAP TO ONE END) (LABLE CONTENTS ON SIDE WITH MAJIC MARKER)(TAPE CAM CARD TO TUBE ON OUTSIDE ALSO INSIDE PLASTIC ZIP LOC BAG)
(drop cam inside, cover with qt of NEW oil add TIGHTLY SCREWED IN PLACE BLACK RUBBER CAP WITH RADIATOR CLAMP)
STAND it vertically ON PVC CAP END, USE SEVERAL BUNGEE CORDs TO FASTEN TO END OF WORK BENCH
TOTAL COST LESS THAN $20 FOR 5-10 CAM STORAGE CONTAINERS

great tip!!! big emphasis on storing them VERTICALLY. storing cams or cranks horizontally will cause them to unstraighten and eat up bearings when they finally are used.. i only add this because someones bound to ask why..

What is this last part about a bungy cord?

Aren't you basically storing the cam in a pvc tube filled with oil and sealed at the ends with a rubber cap?

Thanks for the idea

the several bungee cords are keeping the cams stored vertically at the end of my work bench from getting knocked over or damaged ans storing them vertically prevents oil leaking, or any surface being above the oil surface or them being stressed by lying on their sides
(2) cut it in to 24" lengths (cams are NOT24" long the slight extra lenth garuantees they remain under the oil surface)
(add a GLUE ON CAP TO ONE END) IT CAN,T LEAK)
(LABLE CONTENTS ON SIDE WITH MAJIC MARKER)(TAPE CAM CARD TO TUBE ON OUTSIDE ALSO INSIDE PLASTIC ZIP LOC BAG) SO YOU KNOW WHATS INSIDE WITHOUT NEEDING TO GET ALL OILY LOOKING AT IT!
(drop cam inside, cover with qt of NEW oil ) PREVENTS RUST EVEN AFTER 29 PLUS YEARS
