quesitons on scanning a car for codes (OBDI)

If i buy an ALDL cable to hook my laptop up to my car is there software that can read the codes?? I have the old OBDI so i'm afriad LT1EDIT wont work..

this seems like it would be a major help in diagnostics :yesnod:

you dont need anything to scan the codes on your car except a paperclip :thumbs:

im not talking about the trouble codes.. i know the paper clip trick.. jeesszeee :rolleyes: :p

I'm talking about how much timing the computer is pulling out... the O2 sensor readings.. the knock count.. etc..etc...

These will tell you values for ecm sensor readouts, etc. And be a little more specific in your postings next time. :rolleyes:
