Once you have the plan get the A4 rebuilt with a little higher stall TC and a shift kit to add to your driving pleasure. I love it when I catch a nice chirp and a little "wag" on the 1-2 shift.
And remember no matter who is faster at the strip/street, you still are driving a Vette.
BTW, if you feel the need to win at the strip, get into bracket racing where it's driver talent not HP that takes the win stripe.

There are some thing you can do. Loose some weight, and start modding.
Do the little things.
This is the most telling figure i saw off that site.
0-100 mph (sec) NA 22.3s NA 23.12 s
I'll try to put that into perspective. (im trying to remember the numbers I saw)
The L98 does 100 in about 14.1 seconds.
The LT1 does it in 12.6s.
The Lt4 does it in 11s
The LS1 does it in 11s
The Ls6 does it in about 9.6s.
Start modding that Crossfire!!!
BTW: it handles great, and is a great Auto X car.

Just think about the numbers you posted. Do they really make any sense?

Same goes for every other number you posted.
The L98's were not much faster than the Xfires and were rated at about 25hp more. As a rule of thumb that's about .2sec faster in the 1/4mile. With light porting of the Xfire manifold, the 84 can be very competitive with the L98's. Plus its got more torque.
Xfires have a poor reputation and a lot of it is undeserved. Putting up bogus numbers helps perpetuate that image. I know you didn't intend to purposely mislead but it may help if you'd double-check your facts next time.
BTinIowa,
BTW, my Xfire is turning 88mph in the 1/8mile. And it reaches 100mph in the mid 13's.

Very good point. Some people tend to forget that the 84 marked a turning point in the Corvette. The 84 ushered in a generation of Corvette that could no longer be poo-pood as a make believe sports car. The 84 was a true rival to the world's best sports cars. 205hp in 1984 was a damned good number along with the the 1g handling capability of the Z-51 suspension. The 84 was a daring technology showcase for GM and for Corvette. Maybe it will finally take its place in Corvette history as the breakthrough vehicle it really was. I don't think any other model year, including the C5, represented such a radical change from the preceding generation of Corvette. When the 84 was introduced, it was a revelation. Everything about it was different and better, faster. The fact that it suffered from GM's typical first year run de-bugging doesn't detract from the capability built into this car. When you upgrade the motor's capability to 350+hp, now you have an engine that matches the capacity of the chassis. It is a great car to drive. :chevy :auto:
