Does anyone have any thoughts on what I could do to troubleshoot this warning light? I have tried removing the negative to battery just so everything in the PCM is re-set but that warning light came back on.
I had a similar issue with mine, probably one of the wheel transmitters gone bad. Another user posted a way to troubleshoot which wheel is the issue but I forget who. Their suggestion was to lower the pressure in one tire, say 20lbs and drive SLOWLY around the block to see if the Low Tire Pressure light came on, if it does, that wheel is good, pump it back up and try another until you locate the bad transmitter.
My Chevy dealer told me it was a Goodyear system and have them test it.
If you can get your hands on a Service Manual, all the steps are there. If there is a sensor failure, the fault code is stored and available by grounding pin B to pin A at the ALDL with the ignition on. The ALDL is under the dash on the drivers side near the console, if I remember correctly. With a low tire pressure signal, the code is available while the warning is there, the code for low tire pressure stays stored even if you pump up the tire, until the module resets when the ignition is turned off and back on. The control module memory for the sensor fault codes can be cleared by grounding pin B to pin A, at the ALDL connector 3 times within 10 seconds
Yes, I got that light too. Found out 1 of my rear wheel wheels LTPW sensors system was acting up. I ended up removing the bulb out of the dash warning panel cluster. That fixed it for good. But belive it or not; if I do get a low tire pressure, which I often do, cause I intensionally lower the tire pressure for the drag strip (below 25 psi). I still get the other light on "Low/Flat Tire".
I recently purchashed a sweet 96 flame red black top vert. I love every thing about the car except the LTPWS. It comes on every day and stays on until the engine is turned off. My dealer said the sensor was bad and it would cost $350.00 to replace. I've read what PALERIDER wrote and will try and turn it off for good. Any more advice on this problem. Desperate in OK. :auto:

Re: LTPWS System Warning Lit Up (Mikesa)
About 2 years ago, I was occationally having a false warning on my 1996. I put the word out on the forum and a guy by the name of Fredrick Bush said he had a new sensor. I sent him the money and he stiffed me. So, don't buy anything from this guy. The name again is Fredrick Bush.
The sensor stopped acting up and nothing for the past 2 years.
