Turnkey C4 LS1 Swaps
It would still be a nice swap if you like the C4 body over the C5.

Shortblock = 55 lbs lighter (55 total)
Heads = approx 60 lbs lighter (i just remember we went from 85 iron heads) so thats 115 lbs.
TPI setup to plastic intake = 28 lbs lighter 143 lbs total
aluminum water pump = 8 lbs 151
Factory lightweight ministarter = 10 lbs 161
factory exhaust manifolds to headers 8 lbs 169
Removing A/C compressor, condensor, a/c blower box 47 lbs 216
Also, removed the aircleaner assembly etc 3 lbs 219
no distributor 4 lbs 223
Im not exact on all of this...but from weighing the 85 swap before and after we went from 3120 to 2830 (no exhaust open header) and 2880 with exhaust.
So we lost about 240 lbs off the nose...
Don't get me wrong...LS1 is a great engine, but I wouldn't pay $9k for one when I could build a small block to get the same or more HP for less.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
1. Are these new/rebuilt [/salvage] engines and transmission(s)?
2. What year would the motor be?
3. Is there a warranty on the engine, transmission [and fabbed parts]?
4. What is involved to get them smog legal in CA?
5. How long does the swap take?
6. Where are you [located] in Ca.
Thats all I can think of for now...
Plus:,
7. Are any durability mods made further along the
drivetrain as part of the featured swap?
8. Are cooling system upgrades necessary/included?
9. Does the swap in any way reduce torsional chassis stiffness?
10. Can an R-D Cross Bar be retained post-swap?
11. Is it possible & economically feasible to restore the car
to stock condition (when C4 prices skyrocket in 20 yrs)?
And can you clairify what happens to the existing
eng/trans for $9g. Am I right that I have the option
of keeping them at this price or negotiating a lower
price and leaving the parts that come out with you.
Finally, can you speak to the visual end result.
Are the fab work, wire harness and plumbing changes
at a level that welcomes close inspection by critics.
Or is it better to keep the hood closed and just
collect pink slips?

1) These engines are warrenty covered from wrecked f-body 98-02 camaro/firebirds. The cars are high damage accidents. and the complete motor/tranny is removed.
2) often motors in the 10-20k mile range are available from 00-02's so those are used. the 98-00's can save you a little money if you dont mind 40-60k miles on them as well.
3)yes there is a warrenty on parts and some work
4)smog legality is available. Please email me at ls1tuner@hotmail.com for details
5) The car is ready for pickup approx 30 days from the day it is dropped off or arrives here.
6) Bakersfield, CA
7) No durability issues whatsoever known at this time. We do not recommend dragradial or slick usage on Dana 36 cars
8)No cooling system issues seen
9) no, there is no loss of chassis stiffness or handling etc
10) What is a R-D cross bar?
11) There is no cutting on the car or anything that would keep you from swapping back the factory engine etc
You keep all your stock parts if you want. we dont take anything as core etc. We can reduce the price and take off the value of your engine/tranny toward the ls1 swap cost.
Yes the motor installed looks extremely clean, and gets HUGE attention by people. Ive heard no complaints on anything. With z06 fuel rail covers the motor looks very nice.
What kind of cam do you guys use with the 475hp package? Who ports the heads?
Do you have any pictures of your customer's rides?
Why would you ruin an LT4 car by putting an LS1 in??
Don't get me wrong...LS1 is a great engine, but I wouldn't pay $9k for one when I could build a small block to get the same or more HP for less.
