Can the seats be switched without changing frames????
This may sound like a dumb question, but I am thinking about replacing the seats in my 86 coupe because they are a little ratty. Anyway, I am thinking about buying the seat covers already installed on new foam. My car came with the sport seats, and I would like to replace them with the standard seats. I like the shape and feel of the standard seats better, and my lumbar "stuff" is all shot and broken anyway.
So, the question is, do would the new recovered seat foam pieces pot into the existing sport frames, or do I have to find a set of standard frames for the seats to fit. Anyone know??? Thanks :party:

I think you may run into a problem with the power wings.... The side bolsters are motorized and move in and out on the sport seats...

The frames are the same. Just unplug the power for the sport seats to get them out. The sport power plug is between the power switch wiring from console and the 6-way motor under the seat. Just remove the sport harness and plug the 6-way motor back up to the harness from console switches.

I had sport seats on my 89 and switched to regular seats and had to get new frames because they were different for my year.
