Default Exhaust set up opinions...

I am going to purchase some headers within the next week or two. I was just wondering what I should do from the headers back. I currently am running elims with the cats on and the resonator. Any opinions on catback systems or should I just leave it be?

Well that depends on whether you want to keep the cats and if you really dont want resonance.

For best HP though, the elims should stay.

So you think that the elims will give more hp than cat back? I love my elims and they are going to start implementing exhaust testing here soon in Texas for inspections so I will prolly keep the cats.

Here in Houston they already have been testing emissions. The stock resonator is kind of restrictive. The exhaust bottles necks down going into it. What about replacing resonator alone with something more freeflowing. What kind of tips do you have on your exhaust. I am thinking of taking my corsa mufflers off and putting elims on.

Run 2 1/2" true duals behind the cats with hi-flow mufflers or elims.

Right now I have been runnin 3" back from the resonator. The tips I have been using are the stock tips that I had welded back on after the mufflers were removed.

Then, if your cats have a 3" output I'd run 3" pipes to your current setup.

The main thing is to have all mandrel-bent to minimize air flow restrictions.

So long as you will be running headers you don't need to worry about lack of back pressure, except maybe for the EGR.

A good used catback isnt that expenssive and you at least would have something nice instead of having one piece here and another there. Go with B&B Tri Flow

So then in your guys opinion I should or should not use catback? And should I keep cats or use High flow cats or none at all?
