Default Car Running Hot

As of lately I've noticed my car running much hotter than normal. After taking a close look I noticed that one of my fans isn't coming on. Actually it did for about 2 seconds before it shut down. My question is are both fans supposed to come on at the same time? If so I would think that this would be my issue.

Thanks for any responses.

Eric

There's tons of posts on this topic. I think normally the first fan kicks on at 227 and the second comes on around 237. If you turn on the AC, both run all the time. LT1's tend to run a little hot. Some people add at 160 deg thermostat and/or reprogram the fan turn on temps. Others add a manual switch to turn on the fans whenever. Another real key thing is a clean radiator. The design and position tend to pick up a lot of road junk that blocks the fins. If you have a bad fan, that's another problem.

That's my concern. I'm thinking that I have a fan going out. I turned on the a/c and both fans didn't come on.

It should come on at 228F, and the one in front of the radiator about 10F higher than that.

Check your wiring/relays.
