TPS Percentage

Question: When I connect my scan tool to my Vette and do a WOT run, I've noticed my TPS % value is never 100%. It's usually around 96% and seems to drop to 93% at max RPM. Has anyone else seen this? It should be pinned at 100% if I'm holding my foot correct?

Check your accelerator cable adjustment.

Yep, that was the problem. Slightly out of adjustment. I never would have known unless I connected my scanner. It's all adjusted up now and I tell ya....it really likes the extra air. :D

I had the same problem after I finished my heads/cam job. Needless to say, it was a nice surprise to have a little extra throttle.

Aren't yours self adjusting? I wouldn't think it matters. Heck my car goes into WOT mode at only 69%.

On my 94 the accelerator cable adjuster is located about 3 inches from the ASR module. Just lift up on the adjustment tab, stretch the cable, and push the adjustment tab back down to tighten.

Before adjusting, have someone push the gas pedal to the floor, and check to see if the throttle body butterflies are completely open, if not, adjust.
