There would have to be very compelling reasons to do this when it would be so much easier to put a Corvette 6-speed in a Corvette.
Did you get this Viper trans free or something?

I seen a 93 vette last friday at the drags and he had the viper 6-speed in his car with his twin turbo setup but on the first pass he blew up his clutch.He said it wasn't to bad of a swap but he had to make his own center console because the gear shifter sits in the middle of the console.

I thought the Viper 6pd was a T-56 the same as whats in the F-body's?

The viper trans is supposed to be alot stronger than the zf. basicaly I was trying to find out the difficulty in making the change as both of them are --from what ive been told--just about the same price-new-.

Big problem will be hooking up to the C-beam. The tailshaft housing on the ZF is made just for the Vette's C-beam. Next time you see that guy at the strip, ask him how he did it.
BTW, ZFs regularly hold up to ZR1s putting out over 700 ft*lbs of torque, you'll have to do a lot to get a SBC to that level.
