88 Digital Speedo DIM?

88 Digital Speedo DIM?
The digital dash on my 88 works fine, but the other day, I noticed
that the left side (Speedometer) numbers seems a little dim. The tach
on the right is fine as well as everything else..... not a huge problem, but
is there a blub that might have shifted behind? or is it all LCD?
Suggestions?

There are 7 bulbs: one each for turn signals, one for high beam and 4 behind the silver discs. Are they all functional? Don't think this would effect the display, though. The guages are all lcd and make contact with the circuit board through little bumpers (like wide pencil erasers) around their edges. If you push lightly on the guage and it gets brighter, I'll bet there is a problem with them. I am no ecpert though, so refer to this site for more detail.

If the 88 is the same as the 85, then you can access the bulbs from the front.
Just take the plastic covers on the dash off and you can access them.
