P.S. I'm at 74k miles and swaping out the opti, I can see missing ***** on my bearing on th pump so figure it is a good idea to do both at the same time. Is that assumtion correct?
If you are paying $130 for a brand new OEM pump ~ that is a good price. I do not recommend using an aftermarket or rebuilt pump. A new pump fromSuperior Chevrolet is $151.00.

Right about now I could go into my spiel about this whole upgrade. Look back a few weeks and you'll spot this topic covered in detail. The short form: think Meziere electric pump, DynaSpark opti or at least vent your next opti, seal replacement, plug wires and plugs. I'm doing it right know and plan on writing a Tech Tip article covering this project. I'm up to reinstalling my oil pan and the damper hub, I learned a lot about this from right here. Good luck and let me know if I can help you.

:yesnod:
The electric pump is  (pun somewhat intended). With my fans always on, my coolant temperature tracks load. If I'm pushing, it gets higher, I might see as high as 212 holding a steady 2200rpm with A/C at 90 degrees ambient.
Idling in traffic it actually goes down to where the thermostat modulates it, 180-185.
